Investeren in een hoopvolle toekomst
Eve
Reading the news in the morning is not exactly the best way to start my day, lately.
It puzzles me, who voted in all these authoritarian men, anyway?
Men who will spend millions to look for water on Mars, and save a few bucks by denying starving children clean water.
Men who are so scared of giving up their top dog position that they feel the need to ban pictures of women in powerful positions from the internet.
Men who lock up a woman for wanting to feel the wind blow through her hair.
Men who call Mary of Magdalene a prostitute and Eve the initiator of sin.
Eve, her name means ‘breath’ or ‘she who brings life’.
Today is March 8th, International Women’s day. Today, let’s celebrate Eve.

Af en toe mag ik een stukje voor het Nederlands Dagblad tikken. Vandaag een ode aan een wereldleider die zijn volk meer liefhad dan zijn ego.

Verhalen voor nieuwkomers
Vers van de pers, mijn nieuwste boekenkind! Zestien korte verhalen voor nieuwkomers. Niet kinderachtig, wel in makkelijke taal.
De titel is ‘Een tompoes en bitterballen’ en het is uitgegeven bij Uitgeverij Eenvoudig Communiceren.

De afgelopen maanden heb ik vol overgave aan een nieuw boek gewerkt. Het is een verhalenbundel voor nieuwkomers geworden. Ik had een klas vol meelevers en meelezers, die alle verhalen met veel enthousiasme lazen. Voor mij is dit een goede reden om trots te zijn. Ik hoop dat nog veel meer nieuwe Nederlanders mijn verhalen met plezier zullen lezen. De titel is ‘Een tompoes en bitterballen’. De uitgever is Eenvoudig communiceren.
Verkiezingen / elections
Yesterday we had elections in the Netherlands. My home country voted to have a populist in charge.
I suppose this is what we tend to do, when we are uncomfortable, we simply want a strong man in charge, even if he is a rascist, with little to no respect for the constitution. It’s sad and I deeply want to believe that in the end, kindness will prevail over the fist.
